New Markets Tax Credits Financing
To date, the SFF program has played an important role in three
innovative, working-forestland conservation projects through
use of the New Markets Tax Credit Program. These projects include:
- A financing in 2009 involving the 22,000-acre West Grand
Lake Forest in Grand Lake Stream, Maine
- A financing in 2006 relating
to Lyme Timber Company’s purchase of 276,000 acres in the Adirondacks;
and
- The establishment in December 2005 of a 5,300-acre Community
Forest in Errol, N.H.
SFF
has a working partnership with Maine-based
Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI) relating to the
New Markets Tax Credit Program. |
